Jack's Magic® Solution One™, Iron, Cobalt & Spot Etching Stuff™ aids in removing iron, cobalt & etched stains on all pool surfaces.

Jack's Magic® Solution One™, Iron, Cobalt & Spot Etching Stuff™ is used after proper identification using the Stain ID kit.  Follow all directions below for optimal results.

Please note that stains & staining may just be a symptom of a more complex problem.  We recommend that you read the following information on Stains & Staining and water balance prior to treating your problem.

Special Product Note: The effectiveness of several Jack’s Magic products - The Stain ID Kit®, Stain Solution #1®, Stain Solution #2®, and Stain Solution #3® - can be affected when the pool water temperature is below 65° F (approx. 18° C).  The further below 65° F, the temperature is, the less likely any of these products will be effective. Therefore, in addition to properly balanced water, always make sure the water temperature is at least 65° F degrees.

Directions for Iron, Cobalt & Spot Etching:

  1. Use Jack's Magic Stain ID kit to properly identify the stain you are attempting to treat.
  2. Turn Pool Pump ON & chlorinator (if equipped) OFF
  3. Lower chlorine level to just below 1.0 ppm (use Jack's Magic After Shock or BioGuard Chem Out if needed)
  4. Add 1 Qt of Jack's Magic Blue Stuff or Pink Stuff per 10,000 gallons of pool water (pools utilizing a salt generator or with high TDS - over 1500 ppm - should use Purple Stuff)
  5. To enhance your filter's ability during the stain removal process, use BioGuard Sparkle Up
  6. Broadcast 2 lb. Solution #1, Iron, Cobalt & Spot Etching Stuff per 12,000 gallons over the stained area.
  7. Circulate pool for 48 hours continuously until the stains are removed.
  8. Clean filter with BioGuard Kleen It.
  9. Slowly re-chlorinate & rebalance the pool water.
  10. Do NOT shock the pool for at least one week following this treatment.
  11. Add Jack's Magic Blue Stuff or Pink Stuff on a monthly basis as a preventative basis
