BioGuard® Mineral
Springs® System has many significant advantages over using
other stand alone electrolytic saline devices, such as: Less pH fluctuation (contains built-in buffers)
Less scale build-up on filter, heater &
electrolytic cell (contains built-in chelants)
Built-in filter enhancers and clarifiers
Softer water
Virtually eliminates staining due to iron present in
"cheap" salt
Follow these simple steps to properly begin your Mineral Springs®
experience:
Balance the pool water based on the following ranges:
Total Alkalinity: 100 -120 ppm; Ideal 100ppm
Calcium Hardness: 200-400 ppm **
pH: 7.4-7.6
Shock the pool with BioGuard®
Super Soluble®
to create & establish an initial chlorine residual. Apply at a rate of 1
lb. per 10,000 gallons.
Add Mineral Springs®
Beginnings®. Broadcast over
the surface of the pool, walking all around the pool. Some of the
Beginnings will accumulate on the bottom of the pool. This is normal.
Simply brush the excess up into the water. This MAY have to be done
several times over several days. It is sometimes a good idea to add the
Beginnings over 2 days to avoid clouding of the water (rare condition).
Turn the Mineral Springs®
unit ON after all of the Beginnings®
has been added to the water. Adjust the dial to 60 to 100.
Over the next week, check the chlorine
level. Begin to lower the dial down to between 20 - 30.
Put the unit on "BOOST" on a weekly basis
to "shock" the pool.
For best results your filter system should
operate for a minimum of 8 -12 hours daily. Use additional timer settings
on your pool's timer to grab some less expensive "off-peak" electrical hours
(try 6 on, 6 off, 6 on, 6 off).
That's it! Once you're going, it's...
